St. Maarten – Pedestrian struck by vehicle and seriously wounded
On Saturday July 4th at approximately 02.20 a.m. the Central Emergency Dispatch received a phone call informing them of a very serious traffic accident on the A.J.C. Brouwers road in the vicinity of Premier Supermarket.
On the scene the investigating officers encountered a female victim who was struck by a vehicle while standing on the side of the street. The victim was seriously wounded as she complained of a broken leg and other injuries.
She treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten medical Center for further treatment and where she remains admitted. Five other parked vehicles were also damage by the vehicle that caused the accident.
The police traffic department is presently investigating this cause to determine exactly what the cause of this accident was.
