TOURIST OFFICE PRESIDENT TO SPEAK AT THE UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE ON WOMEN
Office of Tourism, Sandy Ground – Tourist Office President, Jeanne Rogers-Vanterpool will be leaving for New York over the weekend to participate in the “2015 Empowering Women and Sustainable Development Summit” that will be held in New York from September 22, 2015 through September 26, 2015.
The President, will be joining government officials, representatives of nonprofit organizations, CEOs and executives from over 50 private companies who will be in New York to discuss and announce their respective global projects that benefit the needs of women, addressing primary issues such as the effects of public and private partnership on public welfare projects, women leadership, as well as sustainability.
The conference takes place on the anniversaries of two important events, the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and the 20th anniversary of the World Conference on Women.
This year, the Sino-American Friendship Association (SAFA), which extended the invitation to the Tourism Office President, in partnership with the China Women Development Foundation (CWDF) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund (SDG-F), will be hosting the opening ceremony, luncheon and summit on September 22, 2015, at the UN Headquarters, and an award ceremony and symposium at the Harvard Club NYC.
Mrs. Rogers-Vanterpool has been asked deliver a speech on “Women In Leadership” at the United Nations Headquarters next week.
