POLICE REPORT Sint Maarten
Man seriously injured in stabbing incident.
The Detective Department is presently investigating a stabbing which left one man seriously injured. The incident took place on Sunday November 29th at approximately 5.30 p.m. on Rubber Tree drive in Cole Bay. Directly after the call came into the Emergency Dispatch several police patrols, Detectives and Forensic Department were sent to the scene to investigate what had taken place. On the scene the investigating officers learnt that during a heated dispute between the victim with initials D.D. (25) and the suspect with initials J.C. (29) the situation got out of hand and turned into a fight. During the fight the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife in his chest seriously injuring him. After committing this act the suspect fled the scene. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. At approximately 08.40 p.m. the suspect turned himself at the Philipsburg Police Station. He was arrested on the spot and put into custody for further investigation. The victim in the meanwhile has been transported to the hospital on the French Side of the island. The condition of the victim was unavailable at press time. As soon as this information becomes available the media will be informed.
Town Hall Meeting
The Community Police Officer, Inspector Felix Richards, will be holding a Town Hall meeting for the areas of Mary’s Fancy, Betty’s Estate and Saunders on Tuesday December 1st 2015. This meeting will be held at the Mac School in Betty’s Estate and starting at 07.00 p.m. The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the recent increase in home invasions/break-ins in these areas and how best tackle this problem. All residents in these areas should attend this very important meeting.
