Chains snatched from female
The Special Robbery Unit is presently investigating an armed robbery which took place on Sunday May 1st at approximately 05.45 p.m. in School steeg. The female victim was walking in the alley when she was suddenly approached by the suspect who demanded the she handed over her two gold necklaces she was wearing. When she refused the suspect pilled a gun and pointed it at the victim. He then pulled the trigger but the gun did not go off. The suspect then pulled the chains from the victims’ neck and took off running towards Back street and through several alleys where the victim lost sight of the suspect.
Man stabbed
The Detective Department is presently investigating a stabbing which took place on May 4th at approximately 04.30 a.m. in the Festival Village. The incident happened during a fight leaving the suspect with a superficial stab wound in his chest and a broken nose. The suspect was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. After treatment the suspect was released. One person was arrested as a suspect in this case.
