Man seriously ill-treats woman

KPSM, Philipsburg, May 28th 2012 – The Detective Department is investigating a serious case of ill-treatment of a woman with the initials T.R.

This incident took place on Saturday May 26th on the Bay Leaf Tree drive in Cole bay. The victim and her former partner with the initials J.E.M. from Jamaica for some time now have been having problems with each other because of his excessive drug use among other issues.

On Saturday the situation became physical at which time the suspect struck the victim with a piece of wood in her head, causing a severe wound to the left side of her head.

The victim was treated on treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment and where she was been admitted for observation. The suspect has been arrested and is in custody for further investigation.
