Sint Maarten has a new government
Country Sint Maarten has a new government since Friday, June 14.
The new council of Ministers now consist of :
- Sarah A. Wescot-Williams, Prime Minister,
- Maurice A. Lake, Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure,
- Dennis L. Richardson, Minister of Justice;
- Martinus J. Hassink, Minister of Finance;
- Patricia D. Lourens-Philip, Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports;
- Van Hugh C. de Weever, Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labour
- Mathias S. Voges, Minister Plenipotentiary.
The new ministers took the oath of office minutes after four on Friday afternoon at the Cabinet of the Governor in a private ceremony.
The newly appointed ministers then held the Constituent Assembly in the A.C. Wathey legislative hall of the Government Administration Building.
The Prime Minister will be responsible for the portfolios of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications.
