Sint Maarten : Robbery suspect arrested
On Thursday August 29th at approximately 12.30 p.m. a police patrol was directed to Backstreet where shortly before a lady was robbed of her shoulder bag.
The suspect in the case fled the scene and jumped into a bus on the Cannegieter street heading out of Philipsburg. The officers after receiving the description of the suspect and the license plate of the bus he jumped into started a search in the Philipsburg area.
During the search the bus the suspect was traveling in was stopped in the vicinity of Beach Plaza Casino. The suspect was found in the bus and the stolen shoulder bag with its contents was found hidden underneath one of the seats. The bag was confiscated for further investigation.
The suspect with initials L.D. (23) from the French side was arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg police station where he was turned over to the Detective Department for further investigation.
