Sint Maarten: Female rescued by police
On Thursday September 5th at approximately 09.40 a.m. two police bike patrol officers while on the Board Walk in the vicinity of Ocean’s Hotel noticed that a jet ski had capsized due to the rough seas in Great bay.
They also noticed that two persons, a male and female were holding on to the Jet Ski and screaming for help. One of the officers immediately jumped into the water and swam towards the victims to assist them. The female Jet Ski passenger, who could not swim, panicked after the vehicle overturned causing her to fall into the water. She then started holding on to the male passenger pulling him under water, causing him to become quite exhausted.
The female victim with initials A.M., travelling on board of the Royal Caribbean Cruise ship was rescued by the officer and brought ashore. She was in good health and did not require any medical treatment.
