Saint-Martin. Launching of the St. Martin Grassroots movement

Upon the initiative of the St. Martin Nation Building Foundation (SNBF) and the Association L’ Esprit de Concordia, the St. Martin Nation Building and Unification Grassroots People Movement – for short the St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  – is herewith officially presented to the public as well as to all relevant authorities.

This movement has been operating as such, in an un-official manner for a number of years in preparation of the broadening of the scope of the functioning of both organizations by networking with like-minded people.As of today, the  St. Martin Grassroots People Movement has now become an officially structured entity, representing and defending the rights of all native, indigenous St. Martin People residing on the island and abroad.  

The St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  is comprised of the St. Martin Nation Building Foundation (SNBF) and the Association L’ Esprit de Concordia, as/at the core of the movement along with Grassroots People Associates or Associated members.These Associates could be private persons and/or legal bodies/institutions.

Proof of membership is being a (cultural-) St. Martin ID-cardholder and signatory to the Pledge of Allegiance to the St. Martin Grassroots People Movement.In return the Associates/Associated members also may receive certain benefits in return.

The main objective of the St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  is to represent a broad-based network aimed at promoting the recognition, protection, preservation and the best interest of the native, indigenous St. Martin People in the widest sense of the word, in order to create a strong foundation for the inclusion of all others with an ‘added value’ in the process of nation building/unification.

The St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  is open for membership to all, who can subscribe to its objectives and who are prepared to sign a pledge to that end.

The St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  reserves the rights to champion its cause on every relevant platform local-, national, regional or international. 

The first Associates of the St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  are the following persons :

1.      Leopold James

2.      Horace Whit

3.      Miguel Arrindell

4.      Freddy Richardson

5.      Etienne van Heyningen

6.      Nadika Stephen

7.      Touzah Jabash

While all members can be contacted for information, as it relates to the St. Martin Grassroots People Movement  the official spokes-person for the movement is Leopold James, president of the SNBF/AssociationL’Esprit de Concordia. In his absence Albert ‘Jesse’ Adams, is the official spokes-person and the substitute spoke-person is Horace Whit. 

On a regular basis, updates will be provided to the public.
