With over a 100 t – shirts donated to the cause the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta hopes to support and clothe those in need and also encourage other businesses and organizations on the Island to donate anything they can. “Every company should have a look in their storage room and see if there is anything that is collecting dust, but can be of great support to those who have lost literally everything. It’s not about quantity and it doesn’t have to be clothing. You would be surprised what is needed and will be very appreciated by the victims. Toys, books, magazines, health care products, etc. Anyone can contribute” says Regatta Director Michele Korteweg.
With the victims losing everything the Red Cross is receiving all sorts of items for donations, from clothing to toys and household equipment. All donations need to be in good condition and can be dropped of at the Red Cross Headquarters on Airport Road, for further information call (1-721) 545 2333.
