Sport. Une rencontre sportive intergénérationnelle / An intergenerational match
Fr – Ce samedi 26 octobre 2013, l’Avenir Sportif Club de Saint Martin a accueilli pour la deuxième fois les pensionnaires de Bethany Home pour une rencontre sportive, dans le cadre de la Semaine Bleue dédiée aux aînés.
Durant cette matinée, les jeunes athlètes du club Avenir Sportif ont accompagné les aînés dans les diverses épreuves sportives qui leur ont été proposées : un 400 mètres marche en fauteuil roulant, un 100 mètres marche, une épreuve de course par procuration durant laquelle un jeune athlète devait courir pour une personne âgée.
La matinée s’est prolongée par divers ateliers d’athlétisme, où après une démonstration par les athlètes du club, les aînés ont participé activement. Jeunesse Soualiga s’est joint à la manifestation, et a affronté le personnel de la maison de retraite lors d’un match de « balle au prisonnier ». Pour finir, une séance de « yoga relaxation » a été proposée aux aînés, animée par Anne de l’Avenir Sportif Club.
Au-delà de l’aspect sportif, c’est un vrai moment de convivialité qu’ont vécu les jeunes athlètes de l’Avenir Sportif Club et les aînés de Bethany Home. Cette rencontre intergénérationnelle a permis de favoriser des liens, et a incité les enfants à porter un autre regard sur les personnes âgées. Ils ont d’ailleurs été enthousiasmés par le dynamisme des retraités de Bethany Home, tout particulièrement Eliane et Gaby qui n’ont pas démérité sur certaines épreuves.
La matinée s’est achevée sur la promesse de renouveler l’opération l’année prochaine.
En – On Saturday, October 26th, 2013, Avenir Sportif Club of Saint Martin welcomed for the second time the elderly of Bethany Home for a match, within the framework of the Blue Week.
During this morning, the young athletes of the club accompanied the retired people in the diverse events which were proposed to them: one 400 meters walking in wheelchair, one 100 meters walk, a running race by proxy in the course of which a young athlete had to run for an elderly person.
The morning went on by diverse workshops of athletics, where after a demonstration by the athletes of the club, the retired participated actively. Jeunesse Soualiga joined the demonstration, and faced the staff of the retirement home during a match of “dodge ball”. To finish, a session of ” yoga relaxation ” was proposed.
Beyond the sports aspect, it was a real moment of conviviality that the young athletes of Avenir Sportif Club and the elderly of Bethany Home lived. This intergenerational meeting allowed to favor links, and incited the children to have another look on the elderly. They were moreover enthused by the dynamism of the retired people of Bethany Home, quite particularly Eliane and Gaby who did not prove unworthy on certain activities.
The morning ended on the promise to renew the operation the year.
