Sapeurs-Pompiers médaillés. La réaction de la Présidente
Fr – Samedi dernier, une cérémonie de remise de médailles d’honneur de sapeurs pompiers ayant effectué vingt, vingt-cinq et trente années de services, s’est déroulée sur le Front de mer de Marigot.
C’est ainsi que onze personnes ont reçu leur médaille, en présence du Président du SDIS, Elie Califer, du Directeur du SDIS, le colonel Gilles Bazir, du Chef de Groupement, le Commandant Gumbs, du Chef de Centre, le Lieutenant Bernard Maes, du Député Daniel Gibbs, du Sénateur Louis-Constant Fleming, de la Présidente du Conseil territorial Aline Hanson, et du Préfet délégué Philippe Chopin.

La Présidente du Conseil territorial, Aline Hanson, tient à saluer l’ensemble de ces médaillés, dont nombreux sont détachés de la Collectivité, et qui ont choisi cette profession qui est avant tout une vocation : « Les sapeurs-pompiers méritent une reconnaissance particulière de la Collectivité, tant leur travail est porteur de valeurs telles que l’altruisme, l’abnégation, l’engagement, la volonté de se surpasser, etc. Je voudrais insister sur l’aspect sacerdotal de ce métier hors normes, et sensibiliser la jeunesse pour qu’elle s’y intéresse, car je suis convaincue que les pompiers constituent une force d’attraction et une référence, pour les jeunes qui cherchent à donner un sens à leur existence. »
En – Last Saturday, a medals ceremony in honor of firefighters who accomplished between twenty, twenty five and thirty years of service, was held on the waterfront in Marigot.
Thus eleven people received their medals in the presence of the President of the (SDIS) , Elie Calier , the Director of the SDIS , Colonel Bazir , Head of the Group , Commander Gumbs , Head of Center, Lientenant Bernard Maes , the Deputy Daniel Gibbs , Senator Louis-Constant Fleming, President of the Territorial Council Aline Hanson, and the Prefect Officer Philippe Chopin.

The President of the Territorial Council, Aline Hanson wishes to greet all these medalists, many of whom are detached from the collectivity and chose this profession which is primarily a vocation: “firefighters deserve special recognition from the Collectivity, as their work engages many values such as altruism, selflessness, commitment and the will to excel. I want to highlight the priestly aspect of this unconventional profession, and educate the youth who would be interested in this line or work because I am convinced that firefighters deploy a sense of strength and are a reference for the younger generations who seek to give meaning to their lives.”
