A discussion with Dr. Simon B. Jones-Hendrickson
Simon B. Jones-Hendrickson, PhD, is an economist, author, and dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). He has published over 100 articles on monetary economics, public choice policy, immigration, higher education, and labor market economics. Dr. Jones-Hendrickson has served as the ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, CARICOM, and the Association of Caribbean States. He is the president of the Eastern Caribbean Copyright Licensing Association and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Eastern Caribbean Studies. Dr. Jones-Hendrickson chairs the Policy Advisory Committee of the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis; and is a member of the advisory council to the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. His books include Public Finance and Monetary Policy in Open Economies (1985), and Essays on the Organization of Eastern Caribbean Economies (2006). His novels and poetry collections include Sonny Jim of Sandy Point (1991), Death on the Pasture (1994), and Dana, Steven & Brenda (2009). A Weekend in Paradise and Essays on the Economies of St. Kitts and Nevis are the newest books by Dr. Jones-Hendrickson.
