Two men were arrested on Friday June 13th at approximately 01.10 p.m. suspected of being involved in an armed robbery earlier that day in the Cupe Coy area.
According to reports, three men driving in a blue Daihatsu Charade with license-plate P-481, shortly before robbed a female tourist of her personal belongings while threatening her with a gun.
After committing this act the robbers fled the scene in the vehicle in question in the direction of Cole Bay. After receiving this information from the Central Police Dispatch the patrols started searching the area for the vehicle and suspects. The suspect vehicle was spotted shortly after near the Kruythoff Round-a-bout in Cole bay.
Based on the description given of the vehicle and the suspects involved in the robbery, the vehicle was stopped by police on the Union road. Only two suspects were in the vehicle when it was stopped. The suspects with the initials C.F.C. (23) and N.F.R. (23) were arrested on the scene. The vehicle was confiscated for further investigation.
The suspects were taken to the Philipsburg Police Station where they remain in detained for questioning.
