Sint Maarten – Suspects caught in the act
On Saturday February 21st at approximately 02.55 a.m. several police patrols were directed to the Tattoo Parlor on Back Street where a possible break-in was taking place.
Officers immediately went to the area to investigate what was going on. On the scene the investigating officers could hear unknown persons running through that section of the building which is under construction.
When the suspects noticed that the police were on the scene one of the suspects jumped from the third floor to the ground. The suspect seemed not to have suffered any injuries, stood up and took off running along with the other suspect.
The suspects were chased on foot through the streets at which time one warning shot was fired by one of the officers. The suspect that jumped from the building decided to surrender while the other continued fleeing.

At the medical center the suspect refused medical treatment and was returned to the detention center. Later that day the paramedics were called again to attend to the suspect and who was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
