St. Maarten – Pedestrian struck by motor vehicle
On Tuesday June 9th at approximately 09.50 p.m. police patrols, Traffic Department and paramedics were sent to the Walter Nisbeth road in the vicinity of Plaza China to investigate a traffic accident involving a pedestrian that was struck by a motor vehicle.
On the scene the investigating officers encountered a small SUV with license plate P-249 parked in the middle of the street with damage to front, the bonnet and the windshield.
The victim was found lying in the middle of the street at a short distance from the vehicle in question. The male victim was bleeding from a wound to his head and complained of pain in his body. He was treated on the scene by paramedics and then transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.
The traffic department is still investigating this case to determine exactly what caused this accident. In the meanwhile the victim was released from hospital and allowed to go home.
