Sint Maarten. “Lizzy Lizard” is a star on the Jubilee Library book mobile
“Lizzy Lizard” is a new children’s book star that is looming large as a St. Martin folklore character on the freshly illustrated book mobile of the Philipsburg Jubilee Library (PJL).
The adventurous little lizard began life as the main character of Lizzy Lizard, a storybook by teacher Robin Boasman, for ages 4 to 9.
House of Nehesi Publishers (HNP) released the book earlier this year and recently cooperated with PJL to have Lizzy represent the nation’s folklore on the library bus. Boasman (in photo) was “delighted” to see her original character on PJL’s book mobile at last week’s 90th anniversary celebration of the oldest of the island’s two public use libraries.
The PJL book mobile travels throughout the territory offering library services to school children. (RB photo)
