Sint Maarten : False identification papers
On Sunday, January 18th 2015, around 2.00 p.m. a 23-year old woman from the Dominican Republic was arrested at the Princess Juliana International Airport by members of the Back-Office department of the Sint Maarten Police Force.
The woman was accompanied by her 2-year old child and she was suspected of using falsified identification documents to get in to the country of Sint Maarten.
She was brought to the police station and placed into custody. The 2-year old was taken to the ‘I Can’-foundation where he could spend the night. On Monday she gave a statement to the investigating officers in regard to her case. After the interrogation was completed, the woman was given a subpoena by the prosecutor for her to stand in front of the judge to give an account for her deeds.
In the meantime this case was turned over to the Immigration and Border patrol that will take care of the process of her leaving the country as soon as possible.
