Accident de la circulation : un français décède à Sint Maarten après une chute de scooter
On Monday February 9th at approximately 01.30 a.m. police patrol, traffic department and paramedics were sent to the “Tata the Bus driver” round about in Dutch Quarter for a very serious traffic accident involving a scooter rider. On the scene the officers encountered the victim of French nationality who had suffered severe head trauma and was bleeding profusely.
The 32 year old victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken in critical condition to The Sint Maarten Medical Centre for further treatment.
The investigation done thus far by the Police Traffic Department shows that the victim was travelling at a high speed coming from the French Quarter area to Ditch Quarter. For unknown reasons the scooter collided with the elevated centre divider on the street at which time the victim lost control, fell to the ground and injuring himself quite seriously.
The investigating officers later in the morning received information from the medical centre that the victim had died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
